The washed, dried, ground, mature rhizome of Curcuma domestica, from the Madras (Chennai) region of south India. The turmeric is light orange- yellow a fine powder with earthy, pungent and typical aroma.
Turmeric is often a component of masalas or spice mixes and it is used on its own in many south Asian dishes, including curries, dals, rice dishes. Turmeric has extensive uses in middle eastern and north African cooking.
All our spices are hand packed in jars with lids for easy use and storage.
